From a personal experience as a competitive athlete in skiing, triathlons and martial arts, she is able to bring to her patients expertise in treating sports injuries as well as enhancing athletic performance. Other areas of expertise include women's health, internal medicine, treatment of pain and stress release.

"My ultimate goal is to help my patients reach and maintain optimum health which I define as the balance and harmony of the body, mind and spirit. I use acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutrition and exercise counselling as my main modalities. My approach is to go to the root of my patients' disorders by first identifying signs and symptoms that fit into patterns which guide my diagnosis and treatments. In chronic cases, patterns may point out to more specific root issues that can be treated very effectively. In my practice I consider my patients to be the ultimate healers. I view myself as the facilitator of their healing process." (Dr. Caroline Colonna)
